Thank you for your inspiring words. Addiction was a secret we kept in our family for over thirty years. When I think of the wasted time and the damaged relationships it is almost too much to bear.

Whether it was pride or shame I don’t know – but our inaction allowed a bad situation to grow, ultimately affecting and hurting everyone involved.

My first husband died as a result of alcoholism, just like his father before him. I married again and guess what?

You are so right about patterns repeating themselves. If we don’t handle the cause of the problem, we’re almost sure to see it again.

In my own case, I have battled weight issues for years. Lose weight and then gain weight. Over and over again. Reading this book was like looking in the mirror – sometimes very ugly – but always reinforcing with experience, strength and hope. Thank you.
